Building inclusive culture. I believe that all environments are better when the people in them feel appreciated for who they are and can contribute in a way that is uniquely theirs. Of course I can prove this is essential with quantifiable data, but the real proof is in the day-to-day successes that create energetic, dedicated, innovative, and productive teams, and employees that are proud of their organizations' culture and want to stay. Building teams. The best teams form when people come together from any and all backgrounds and ways of being a person in the world. Introverts, extroverts, no-nonsense, quirky, brainy, zany, creative, analytical, friendly, quiet. I love welcoming people to bring their authentic selves to any table where they pull up a chair. No chair but wish to join? I will find a chair, spotlight, and a microphone. There is no better way to be innovative and to make sure products and services work for more people.This is what drives my passion and deep commitment to global connections and diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging work. I witnessed profound inequities working in the healthcare sector. But the rise in organizations that want to do better is hopeful, and with hope brings solutions. I am dedicated to continued research, learning, and staying current with best practices. This is my focus as a current graduate student working toward an M.A. in Global Community Engagement and DEIB and why I dove into the program before looking for a position in the field.
