Although many clients know me for my successful defense of employment law matters, I have been to court—and won—a wide range of complex business litigation disputes,. As an MSBA Certified Labor and Employment Specialist, I continue to represent clients in all aspects of employment litigation and class actions, including pay equity, executive compensation, discrimination, harassment, FLSA collective and rule 23 class actions, non-compete, defamation, retaliation, and whistleblower matters.But I also provide representation for general and complex business litigation including matters involving property, regulated industries, and electrical cooperatives. I cut my teeth as a litigator serving as an AAG for the State of North Dakota. Throughout my career, I have handled hundreds of matters in both the federal and state courts including class action and multi-party litigation. As a result, I know first-hand the additional options and advantage clients get because of my willingness —and ability— to stand for trial.Truly Midwestern in both work-ethic and commitment to community values, I am proud to serve as the first woman President of my law firm, the President of Minnesota Legal Aid Board of Directors, and the incoming President of the MSBA L&E Section's Governing Council. These leadership roles allow to make real my passion for equal access to justice.When not helping clients solve their most important disputes, I serve as a (mostly) neutral arbitrator for the conflicts between my tween-age children. I am especially proud of my son's gift as a tennis player, and my daughter’s grit as a competitive dancer, helping them learn important lessons that courtroom has taught me about digging in, hard losses, and winning gracefully.
