In this position I am part of the team Integrated External Reporting, working closely with other teams at de Volksbank such as the Expertise Centre Sustainability, Strategy, Corporate Communication and Expertise Centre Risk. My responsibilities and main deliverables are the non-financial information (including the EU Taxonomy) in the Integrated Annual Report and ESG disclosures for the Pillar III Reports. In order to achieve these deliverables I work on several projects throughout the year. During this job I positioned myself as an expert on topics such as the Global Reporting Initiative, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, the double materiality assessment, impact and financial assessment, stakeholder engagement, EU Taxonomy, Pillar III ESG disclosures, KPI and strategy development, ESG data collection and processing, non-financial information assurance, Principles for Responsible Banking and Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures.

During my time as reporting and data analist at de Volksbank I focussed mainly on liquidity reporting for supervisory authorities. This included reporting on the liquidity coverage ratio, additional liquidity monitoring metrics, net stable funding ratio and the daily liquidity stress test. Besides that, I also reported on the deposit guarantee scheme. These reports needed to be submitted under time pressure while the team dealt with all kinds of priorities and questions from supervisory authorities. Over this time I developed knowledge on the operations of a financial corporation, applicable legislation and reporting requirements. I gained expertise in data collection, processing and quality. Also, while working in a team with so many priorities and deadlines I developed skills in working controlled and structured.

In the Young Financial Specialist Program I got the opportunity to obtain Wft certificates, follow various skills training courses, and gain experience with various clients. In this way, I developed myself on both a professional and personal level within the financial services industry. On a secondment basis I have worked for de Volksbank, a Dutch bank focussing on retail clients. I delivered work for the backoffice mortgages department, where I gained in-depth knowledge about all types of financial products for retail clients and how to process client and product information. Another important aspect of the job was engaging with mortgage advisors, midoffice colleagues and employees at notary offices.

Therefore, my analytical skills improved during this time.

De Avenue is a small venue where for several occasions one can arrange an event. Think of a wedding, theme party, a conference, workshops or an information day. This made the job very all-round and required me to be focussed and creative. The thesis I have executed was on "The relation between features on the product page and the number of bookings for the holiday homes of Natuurhuisje", with the goal to optimize the conversions.

Robertson Wine Tours is a small tour agency providing luxury wine tours for mainly the American market. During this internship I was responsible for the online marketing and content on the website. Some skills I obtained are working with WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Adwords and Google Search Console.
