Soon after my post-graduation, I got a Reporter's position in Dinamalar, a popular Tamil daily. Through news reports and special stories, I was able to highlight many a issue and concerns in areas like education, environment, law, crime and agriculture. Commending my work, the management of the paper called to work at the district headquarters in Coimbatore. I took up both reporting and editorial tasks.After six months of creating headlines, I was promoted -- I became a Sub-Editor for its Kalvimalar Division in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. There, I chose my areas which are education and environment.Meanwhile, I also did a course on 'Environmental and Coastal Management' that was for Asian journalists conducted by FOJO, Sweden. It was also the time when I was breaking educational news stories. In April 2010, I climbed the career ladder as the Chief Sub-editor and Coordinator for Kalvimalar Division. I started organising educational events and live programmes with experts.I also attended several education and environment related conferences and workshops across the country and abroad. I was again promoted in our organisation: Now, I am holding the Assistant Editor's post. With my initiative, Dinamalar has tie-ups with Ibc-Asia, US Consulate, Chennai and Franchise India, etc., I participated in an event in Singapore- ‘The 4th Annual Higher Education Leadership Asia Pacific’. April 2014, I have participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program on “Human Rights and Foreign Policy Reporting for Journalists” organized by United States Department of State.From 2018, I am also a trainer with Google News Initiative India Training Network.This apart, I write on career guidance and motivational articles for students, besides special stories on environment and socio-economic issues.
