Lead Ops & SRE for Styletag.com. I look after our production, staging and dev instances and ensure the site is up and running, the site response rate is fast and error rates are minimal. Since joining Styletag.com, in a span of couple of months, I have completely rewritten the deployment recipes(based on Chef) so that a uniform set of recipes & cookbooks are used for all instances & environments - dev/staging/production to ensure all the environments are on the same page. I'm a big fan of automation and try to automate everything possible - from developer box setup to deploys across the full stack to reporting errors. Technologies used/applied:- Chef (for CM)- AWS(EC2/ELB/RDS/ElastiCache/S3/VPC)- Sensu & NewRelic (monitoring)- Vagrant- Jenkins (for CI/CD)

TIA Solution (http://www.tiatechnology.com/en/insurance-software-solutions/overview/) is TIA Technology’s (http://www.tiatechnology.com/) modular, integrated core insurance solution. Due to scope of the business, I was involved in 2 projects – first being implementing Claims application for Workers’ Compensation Insurance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workers'_compensation) and the second project being of much bigger scope – comprising of Property, Personal & Liability Insurance As part of the project, my responsibilities included 1. Design high level design documents from the available functional specifications, providing a blueprint of the application under design. Each design document was scrutinized by a three-level review – starting at offshore, with a second pass from onshore and a final overview by the Client’s tech team and most of my designs were approved with minimal review comments. 2. Write unit test cases prior to start of the development. This ensured comprehensive test coverage and avoided delays due to requirements not looked into, missed functionalities etc. 3. Development of the complete application, including design and development of the front-end Interface and supporting backend program units. 4. Handle complete technical documentation – from updated technical Designs to Execution Plans to Sequence Diagram to ensure it remains easy for anyone new to the project and application to look at the documentation and continue working on it. 5. Was responsible for back porting TIA 6.2’s Quote on Policy functionality from TIA version 6.2 to 5.04. Due to the nature of complexity, this involved a lot of debugging, understanding program flow and ensuring that data is gets saved in the right places. .
