Hannes Snellman is a premier Nordic law firm focusing on significant business transactions and complex dispute resolution.I worked within the M&A team of Hannes Snellman and was involved with both, private and public M&A transactions as well as capital markets assignments. The traineeship truly supplemented my previous experiences and furthered my practical knowledge what it comes to transactions and my professional skills. My tasks included i.e. due diligence work, drafting legal documents and carrying out translations and analyses on different legal issues. Most of my assignments had a cross-border aspect or included publicly listed companies.

Established in 1911, Borenius is one of the largest and most experienced law firms in Finland employing over 120 lawyers in Finland, Russia and in the U.S. New York. Borenius provides services in all areas of law for corporate clients. I worked within the firm’s M&A and Private Equity team as an associate trainee. My tasks included, among others, due diligence work, drafting of agreements, legal memoranda and other documentation, participating negotiations, producing legal translations and researching and carrying out analyses on various legal questions relating to corporate and commercial law.

UPM-Kymmene is a Finnish forest industry company that leads the forest-based bioindustry into a sustainable and innovation-driven future across six business areas operating across the world. The production of the company is based on renewable raw-materials which are biodegradable and recyclable.I worked as a trainee assisting the company’s sourcing and legal team. My tasks were related, among others, to different contract management projects, auditing the sourcing contracts and assessing different risk factors as well as conducting research and keeping training sessions regarding new contract management systems and policies. During the spring and summer 2018, I was also helping with compliance issues, especially concerning the GDPR.
