Satya is the founder of Blue Ashva Capital, an investment firm based out of Singapore and India, backing sustainable and profitable businesses which are solving real challenges in core sectors such as agri, decarbonization, circular economy and SMEs. It aims to nurture businesses by bringing capital, technology and market linkages together.Satya has rich experience in banking and financial services industry for three decades in various roles. He was the Chief Executive of Barclays Private Bank in India for more than a decade. Satya started his career in project & corporate finance and has worked in various roles in debt and equity capital markets and distressed assets. Prior to joining Barclays, he was Head of Private Banking in the South East Asia region for ICICI Bank in Singapore. He was also part of the core team to set up ICICI Direct, the largest online trading site in India.Satya has also advised family boards on business & family succession and strategic issues. He has written extensively on values in family business and the role of nextGen.Satya is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and has done Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School. Satya has been a charter member of TiE and continues to be a part of various other angel networks. He is an active angel investor having helped more than 20 startups across industries both in India and overseas including social impact investing. Satya has set up a trust “Business Ecosystem Foundation” to support and mentor small and micro entrepreneurs and early stage ventures. Satya has been involved with ventures in agri and climate technologies for over a decade.Satya believes in unlocking innovation through commercial acumen for larger social good.
