About Sawyer Smith

Hello, and welcome to my LinkedIn page. I am a results-driven marketing or sales person bringing a progressive background in both marketing and sales environments. I consider myself a natural leader with a diverse skillset that includes experience in customer relations, administration & communications, shift scheduling, digital marketing, sales, graphic design, construction, and more. I have proven to be adaptable to different roles, positions, and duties due to an extensive and diverse education and work experience. In 2018, I graduated from Heritage Woods Secondary School in Port Moody, BC and came to Halifax to study business at Saint Mary's University. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I slowed my studies down to accommodate for the lack of in-person classes. However, after 4.5 semesters at Saint Mary's, I proudly walked across the stage in January 2023 as a business graduate with a marketing major and a minor in entrepreneurship. Since then, I have been eagerly pursuing any opportunity that allows me to learn more about the business world.

  • Cintas
    Sales Service Representative
    Cintas Nov 2023 - Present
    Langley, British Columbia, Canada
Route Service Sales Representatives (RSSR) at Cintas drive a truck along an established route and service and sell within an existing customer base. It is a physical, fast-paced, indoor/outdoor position in which the RSSR delivers and picks up uniforms, shop towels, chemical cleaning products and other rental items. RSSRs are the face of Cintas to customers and must work to build rapport with key decision makers, ensure quality standards and pro-actively solve customer concerns. Job responsibilities also include growing our existing customer base by upselling and cross-selling additional products and services, negotiating service agreement renewals and controlling inventory while working professionally, safely and in compliance with driving and vehicle regulations.
  • Sunbelt Business Brokers
    Administrative Assistant
Sunbelt Business Brokers Feb 2023 - Mar 2024
    Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
My role has me working directly with an owner and broker of Sunbelt Business Brokers Nova Scotia. I have been learning about the industry and the details of selling and buying small businesses under his wing. The apprenticeship aspect has me shadowing the broker through meetings and learning the role that a business broker has in the sale of a business. My administrative duties include communicating with potential buyers, creating and executing marketing campaigns (ie. direct email marketing, newsletters, social media advertisements, etc.), market research, working with existing databases, creating databases, and more.
  • Fully Promoted Canada
    Outside Sales Account Manager
Fully Promoted Canada Jan 2023 - Jul 2023
    Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
Worked in-person three days a week with an energetic and friendly sales and production team. As an 'Outside Sales Client Account Specialist' I followed up with existing customers to discuss any new needs they may have for promotional material. On top of handling existing clientele, I established new accounts through cold calling, personal visits, attending trade-shows, and by having a keen eye for businesses with unmet promotional needs that I encountered outside of work hours. I contributed ideas and offered constructive feedback at our weekly (sometimes daily) sales meetings. My client relationships became deeper than transactional due to the customer service I provided both before and after a sale.

  • Deco Windshield Repair
    Salesperson
Deco Windshield Repair Jun 2020 - Aug 2021
    Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Employed as a Site Operator for Deco windshield repair. The job was seasonal for me (as a full-time student in the fall, winter, and spring), running from May until the end of August. I worked this job in the summers of 2020 and 2021. I used sales skills to attract the attention of customers, make the sale on the spot, and then sometimes continue relations with them. I sold windshield repairs for rock chips and crackouts. I not only sold the repair but also conducted it myself. I worked with a driving school that had a fleet of trucks and cars that I regularly would conduct repairs on. I produced top tier sales numbers in the British Columbia region and finished top 20 in sales across the country in both summers. I worked on my own so I had to be very self-motivated to achieve this success.
  • Hfx E-Scooters
    Assistant Operations Manager
    Hfx E-Scooters Sep 2020 - Nov 2020
    Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Worked at HFX E-Scooters for most of my fall semester in 2020. I also worked for them in the spring of 2021. I collected scooters for re-charge, dispatched scooters once fully charged, provided customer support, conducted maintenance on the scooters, and helped with the company's marketing. It was a low-stress environment that paired very nicely with my commitment to school. I gained a great understanding of how an e-scooter rental company operates and I also gained exposure to Halifax waterfront's retail atmosphere.
  • The Stubborn Goat Gastropub
    Dishwasher
The Stubborn Goat Gastropub Jan 2020 - Apr 2020
    Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Washed dishes for a well-known restaurant in downtown Halifax. Often worked in a busy atmosphere. When I wasn't washing dishes, I would be carrying kitchen items up and down stairs from the kitchen to the food-prep room. I did a great job of staying on top of my workload and never left unwashed dishes for the dishwasher coming on after me. I also got along well with all of the restaurant staff.
  • Torrent Shotcrete
    Construction Worker
    Torrent Shotcrete Apr 2019 - Sep 2019
    Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Worked as a labourer and scaffolder for Torrent Shotcrete. Duties involved shoveling concrete into bags/bins during shooting. I also worked on the 'demob' team which required me to put up and take down scaffolding before and after shotcrete shoots. Sometimes scaffolding would stack quite high so I learned fall protection as well as how to put up and take down scaffolding safely. This job sometimes required some very long hours but I loved working through the day as a team. There were times where we had to work 12+ hours in the rain and mud. This job taught me a lot about how job sites function, the safety precautions that go into a job site, and concrete's role in it all.
  • Mcdonald'S
    Fast Food Worker
    Mcdonald'S Feb 2016 - Apr 2017
    Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada
Cross-trained employee at McDonalds. I was trained to cook and do food prep initially but was later trained on the front counter and drive-thru. I handled money, provided customer service, up-sold product, cleaned, and cooked. This was my first job and I worked it part-time while going to high school, playing basketball and playing hockey. Because of these commitments I had to learn how to manage my time, and I had to learn it fast. It was a fairly busy location so I had to work hard and learn how to work in a fast paced environment.
