John F. Sawyer represents businesses, associations and individuals in federal court and in state courts throughout the Hampton Roads region. His litigation experience includes workouts for financial institutions, significant estate litigation involving real property and forensic accounting issues, real property litigation, fiduciary litigation, Clean Water Act regulatory compliance and litigation, injunction hearings, and contract disputes. Mr. Sawyer has an active creditors' rights practice where he assists clients in the collection of accounts receivable and delinquent debt obligations. He frequently performs guardianships and conservatorships and is also a certified GAL for incapacitated persons. Mr. Sawyer is AV rated, listed as a Virginia Super Lawyer, Top Lawyer of Coastal Virginia, and Virginia Business Legal Elite. He is past president of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association, past president of the Sertoma Club of Norfolk, serves on the board of Norfolk Collegiate School, a past member of Session of Second Presbyterian Church of Norfolk, and is active in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
