Responsible for the operation and maintainance of an conventional wastewater treatment plant in an industrial setting, with high concentrations of suspended solids and organics as well as its related treatment systems, including;- rotary bar screen and dissolved air floatation pre-treatment system;- a conventional anoxic volitilization and aeration basins secondary treatment system;- a rapid sand filtration and UV disinfection tertiary treatment system prior to discahrge.Operation and maintainance of numerous appurtances and equipment related to the operation of a wastewater treatment plant, including;- mixers and various pumps, such as chemical dosing pumps, centrifugal, diaphragm, and air compressors and blowers- various valves, including gate, check, globe, and ball valves,- electric and gasoline motors,- monitoring and regulation of flow rates and chemical dosages with computerized SCADA control systems.Collection, testing, and reporting of influent, intermeidate, and effluent water samples for;- temperature and pH,- total suspended solids,- total nitrogen (i.e., NH3, NO3-, NO2) and phosphorus content and,- settling characteristics, in order to ensure ideal conditions for microbial activity are maintained, as well as to monitor plant efficiency and compliance with provincial and federal enivironmental regulations and ECA's.
