About Saxon James

I am a final year mechanical and aerospace engineering student at the University of Queensland with a passion for hypersonics and computational fluid dynamics. I recently completed my masters placement within the Centre for Hypersonics at UQ, focusing on CFD of conjugate heat transfer using UQ's in house developed compressible flow solver - Eilmer. This is helping to contribute to the work being done on the BoLT flight experiments. I have previously completed research experience in UQ's T4 shock tunnel, studying how electrically heated flat plate models affect the boundary layer development, utilising schlieren imaging. Additionally I have experience from a consulting engineering internship, providing me with a well rounded perspective of the industry. Currently I still work as an sales consultant at Politix menswear, helping to achieve store budgets and meet set KPI's whilst delivering excellent customer service. This has given me the skills to help manage a highly diverse team, whilst ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.I am excited about the prospects of securing a graduate position, and am eager to be able to use my knowledge in hypersonics and CFD to help drive innovation and push the boundaries of aerospace technology.
