Team Leader of Material Technical Team• Be a role model/H&M leader and work on building the team into a top performing team• Set and coordinate team goals in accordance with Country and Global Material Strategy• Work closely with the Material Manager and Senior Material Merchandiser to implement SRM Tier2 and follow up the supplier improvement• Secure, supervise and control the best development, quality and sustainability, and monitor competitor quality and fabric mill status to keep the team updated• Support the material technician team to be proactive and solve problems and share them with the rest of the group. • Set up proper production and quality management system (GPQ) for mills to meet our standards, make technical audits, follow up on the action plans and involve in fabric supplier’s lab accreditation process.• Make proper technical judgment on FTD (Fabric Technical Datasheet) & fabric hanger during development stage and provide advice on technical solution to the merchandiser team in connection with products.• Provide technical solution for the product based on FTD.• Follow up FTD if it’s aligned with sample yardage test result. If it’s not, analyze the cause and work with QA and suppliers to find out solution or make proposal of options.• Alert and draw attention to material merchandiser for risky material as per the seasonal strategy of their bulk fabric production follow up.• Provide technical judgment to the commercial decision group when there is any fabric quality related issue on the material and/or product.• Proactively work on material quality with R&D and material sourcing responsible to tackle on potential issue in advance in connection to the product.• Regular contact with suppliers and mills, pay a visit when issue is critical for the need of onsite checking and solution.

• Managing over $150 million global material sourcing annually for different departments and concepts across men’s, ladies and children products.• Collect prices of raw materials from fabric/yarn/fiber suppliers from China, Korea, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka and Indonesia, bench-marking prices in line with seasonal indices and analyze micro/macro-economic factors on material prices to ensure best deal.• Understand trend information by working closely with PDs & R&Ds and identify right suppliers for development of materials.• Work closely with cross functional teams in negotiating and finalizing best deals by delivering on budget, on time and with a quality consistent with the brand image.• Work with the local/ global Sustainable Material Responsible to implement the sustainable material (Organic, BCI, Recycled etc.) strategy for the region.• Secure seasonal top qualities when the price is 'right'. • Execute fabric sourcing processes, from development to bulk, to meet customers’ needs and requirements in accordance with the established procedures and timelines.• Ensure customers’ standards and requirements are clearly communicated to fabric mills/suppliers. Work with fabric mills/suppliers in developing target fabrics for customers’ review and approval.• Assist manager in price negotiation with mills/suppliers, price comparison and provide fabric costing to relevant parties.• Ensure all required lab tests are carried out timely to meet the quality standards. Ensure on-time delivery of fabric swatches, sample yardage, pre bulk yardage, bulk fabric etc. Alert and work with relevant parties in solving quality and on-time issues.• Liaise with worldwide offices of the company in UK, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia.

• Held full responsibility for all development activities in lab, weaving, dyeing and finishing departments for both sample yardage and deskloom. Coordinated with production and planning departments. As a section head, planned daily activities and managed the manpower of the hank dyeing and deskloom sections.• Suggested feasible construction of all developments considering the mill’s capacity and resource.• Was responsible for the color approval of dyed yarn shade for deskloom developments.• Was responsible for determining all technical parameters like reed selection, warp and weft layout plan, weave design etc for deskloom developments.• Ensured quality at every step of development so that the product meets all the required quality parameters according to the customer’s guideline.
