Aerospace Engineer
Working on in-space trajectories and flight dynamics in the systems engineering and integration branch on the NASA Artemis Human Lander System project.Software used:Copernicus, STK, OTISProjects/Assignments:- Time optimal abort trajectories- Global access delta V mapping- Trajectory view angles and attitude monitoring during descent to landing site- 6-DOF modelling support- Assisted in scripting for post-analysis of different trajectory suites/softwares outputs
Student
Research Intern
-Worked with graduate students to exploit ultrafast optical properties.-Assisted in data collection and analysis.-Used optical equipment to form entangled photons in up-conversion and re-converted to a complimentary single photon using down-conversion.-Worked on a project to delay entangled photons for asynchronous communication by utilizing a fiber bragg grating.-Performed spectral analysis on complex photonic signals.-Assisted in thulium fiber experiments.
Systems Engineering Intern
- Maintained and added capabilities to an orbit-visualization tool for low-fidelity space situationalawareness using JavaScript and Python in the CesiumJS environment.- Resolved inconsistent reference frame issues with native CesiumJS environment (Earth-Fixed) andSGP4 propagation (True-Equator-Mean Equinox Inertial).- Developed custom ephemeral data for prospective constellations and propagated them using open source packages for trajectory propagation along with currently tracked satellites by the US Air Force.- Added the capability to filter satellites by current altitude and to update on every simulated time stepto hide or show satellites that fall within the specified altitude band.- Attended conferences in space situational awareness and space sustainability.
Nifs Intern - Hypersonic Air-Breathing Propulsion Branch (Hapb)
- Designed and analyzed a solid-fueled ramjet (Mg-CO2) for EDL purposes on Mars for human-class payloads.- Performed a feasibility study on the ramjet’s capability to work on Mars by determining if entrance combustor pressures were valid for ignition in addition to whether or not there were admissible flight regimes in the atmosphere.- Performed multi-objective optimization on the ramjet to find engine parameters that maximized range capabilities and minimized human safety concerns constrained to a finite hyper-dimensional design space.- Performed a trade-off study to determine whether or not the ramjet is a more optimal concept than alternative EDL concepts with plane-change capability by comparing initial mass and human safety over a specified change in latitude with varying vehicle parameters.- Analyzed free-fall trajectories of entry capsule containing ramjet to determine control law requirements for eventual control law formulation.- Developed a method to analyze scramjet engine performance given the parameters of the engine design and initial conditions using Python.
Intern
- Integrated multiple web applets and software tools to maximize client intake rate.- Streamlined marketing and advertisement strategy to reach specialized audiences.- Researched legal information and crafted speeches and keynote presentations for attorneys.- Prepared attorneys for court proceedings and case evaluation.
Research Intern
-Helped conduct experiments in lasers and optics.-Helped construct lasers and optical systems.-Carried out experiments as well as analyzing and collecting data.-Specialized in the field of fiber optics, Spontaneous Emission Sources, Fiber Lasers, In-band Pumping, Photonic Crystal Fiber Experiments.
