About Suzanne Bishop

I am known for my passion for helping children and adults sort through the world of information. My skill set makes me uniquely qualified to be an innovative leader in libraries. I believe that collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of an effective workplace. I excel at designing and delivering knowledge in ways that are the most relevant and helpful to our patrons. As the public library director in a rural city, my love of community and public service inspire my work engaging people of all ages and interests. As a youth services manager in an urban library, I served patrons of all ages -- helping them with everything from finding materials to their next job. As a preK-12 school library media specialist, I incorporated my many years of experience in public relations in developing compelling instruction. As an academic librarian I brought my public relations and preK-12 experience to reference librarianship. Specialties: innovative community engagement, community-centered programming for teens, children and families; collaborative leadership; instruction in library science and information literacy, strategic planning, fundraising, public relations, and marketing.
