Project Director
CurrentContract to work with local social justice and human rights non-profits and volunteers to create small and large scale live and televised events, up to 25K people. Set and facilitate regular meetings, fundraise, write grants, keep oversight of budgets and expenses, maintain work-plans and stay up-to-date on the project Slack channels and organizing calls. Recruit volunteers to delegate or assume responsibilities below as needed.COMMUNICATIONS - Purview of all external-facing components - Promote events on social media- Managing event listings- Posting updates in the lead-up to the event- Completing reports- Drafting and sending out press releases- Managing press at event- Keeping event description updated- Managing Action Kit & RSVPS- Sending out mass emails to more than 11K peopleVOLUNTEER COORDINATION- Recruits volunteers- Trains them- Create master plan of what their roles will be leading up to and on the day of the mobilization: Marshaling, Clean up, Soliciting donations etc. LOGISTICS- Permitting- Sound and stage: Negotiate with and hire contractors, large or small stage setup. Bullhorns. - Health and safety: Have extra masks/face coverings available to distribute as needed to participants, as well as bottled water and a good supply of hand sanitizer- Line up a volunteer medic team to help participants with any medical needs - Have volunteers dedicated to helping people with accessibility needs, providing designated seating at the front of any stage and ASL interpretationPROGRAM COORDINATION - Create the program and the content run-of-show in close collaboration with all other teams and organizations - Identify speakers, performers etc. PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR- Connect with local organizations with aligning missions and values- Find teams to register voters, fundraise for a local fund or mutual aid effort, or otherwise plug participants into longer term organizing during eventPay and benefits for this role were declined.
