    Prompt.io is a cloud-based, distributed service based architecture for messaging, based in part on our tetrapod open source framework.Despite our age (10 years as of my last edit!) we still feel it's a startup, and certainly I have edited my title here on Linked In 4 or 5 times. I have always been the lead engineer (I had a head start as I started one month before everyone else!) and designed and did much of the initial implementation of our frontend and backend infrastructure. Currently I report to directly to the CEO and am the most senior person in charge of software development, QA, and devops. Internally we have a very flat hierarchy and I try to remain immersed in the technical side as an architect and individual contributor as much as possible.

Our office developed a 30 TB hand history database and analytics platform and created the (initial) mobile client, as well as smaller experiments and prototypes.

I was responsible for design, implementation, and oversight of our software projects. BioTools began as an algorithms company developing novel software algorithms for bioinformatics research, and released several versions of three DNA and protein sequence analysis packages (PepTool, GeneTool, and ChromaTool) as well as several contractual projects for Biotech and Phama firms.After a major pivot we focused on the “prosumer poker market” with AI and data analytics geared to poker enthusiasts, releasing the Poker Academy training software and associated online servers, as well as continuing our contractual work, aimed mainly at online gaming firms..
