Helped students with disabilities reach their IEP goals by completing daily schedule and utilizing teaching moments to build upon their skills. Helped students stay engaged by interacting in activities, facilitating activities during free-time, and initiating social interaction with other staff or students. Taught up to twelve children ages 2-10 years old appropriate behavior by utilizing teaching moments for them to implement assigned skills. Kept track of children’s goal progression and behavior by writing daily notes to caseworkers. Helped take care of children living in the shelter by serving food, hygiene, driving children to school, and engaging them in various activities throughout the day on an off-campus.

Taught 16 youth ages 9-15 years old leadership skills through experiential learning engaging in team-building activities, ropes course, canoeing, hiking, and overnight camping. Managed behaviors by addressing camp standards, providing reminders/consequences, and mediating conflict between campers. Helped take care of sick children by working overtime providing for any physical and emotional needs.

Taught social skills to youth and parents to increase communication and strengthen relationships in the home by writing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Helped families find access to needed tangible goods of families by evaluating their needs and providing resources. Maintained ongoing communication with referring workers by writing case notes, weekly updates, and writing court reports to update progress on skill acquisition of families.

Helped improve overall family function by shadowing a Specialist during a 12-week intervention by teaching behavioral skills. Improved observational writing by writing/editing case notes. Gained knowledge and skills working with families by attending staff meetings and pre-service trainings. Increased accessibility to resources for future interns by creating an outline document for distribution.

Watched over 12-30 children (ages 8-12) ensuring their safety by chaperoning field trips. Facilitated and enthusiastically participated in activities to provide an enriching experience. Encouraged participation in activities and adherence to expectations in order to foster children’s growth in understanding and appreciation in their community.

Trained in CPR/First Aid and obtained certification to ensure safety for camp participants. Participated in weekly devotionals and staff skit nights to foster strong team environment.
