Four fundamental concepts have guided my career: 1. We are only limited by our own lack of imagination 2. The only constant in life is change 3. Our success as business leaders, is directly related to our ability to assess and adapt readily to change 4. In change, often viewed as crisis, lies exceptional opportunityI have had the pleasure to interface with truly exceptional people during my carreer. I have encountered these individuals in both large publicly traded companies and in entrepreneurial ventures that I have started and/or been involved in, typically serving in the capacity of CEO. In both settings, and usually with my own capital in play, it was ultimately the entire team working together that ensured our success. A company's human capital is its single most important asset!Creating a vision and corresponding strategy to execute the vision is important. Creating a corporate environment that embraces the vision and promotes the individual employee's strengths is the key to success.When not overseeing our family investment, management services and charitable activities I enjoy speaking publicly and providing council privately to select Boards and CEOs on leadership development, organizational effectiveness and change and efficiency management. The most important issues we face today are education and more effective resource management of our future energy and water supplies. Our business and charitable activities today are geared to facilitating better solutions specifically in these areas.
