In partnership with Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation, Dan advised museums, breweries, science non-profits, and Main Street America cities on how to coordinate their eclipse efforts and how to communicate the science of the eclipse to their communities. Within Rochester, he established the RMSC Community Eclipse Ambassador program where we brought in 50 organizations with little to no background in astronomy to be trained on the science of the eclipse, how to use telescopes, and science communication. Through this program over 60 telescopes were deployed across wider Rochester.In addition to his eclipse work, he has over 15 years of experience producing STEAM-based events including Maker Faire Rochester, the Finger Lakes Region FIRST Robotics Competition, and STEAM-based areas at the Great New York State Faire and Rochester Fringe Festival. Dan has been featured on CBS News, ABC News, FOX Weather, Forbes, Make Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal.
