Leading the EMEIA delivery of a Global Learning Management System launched across iPhone, iPad, Mobile Web App and Desktop, delivering core training skills and product knowledge to a target audience of 2 million users. I worked closely with the Apple Sales Training leads across EMEIA, from requirements gathering and prioritisation, through to the detailed testing and launch of each major release. Owning the relationship between the business, worldwide programme, and the IT teams, I was able to use my technical knowledge to challenge detailed solutions and timelines, while balancing the business needs and priorities to ensure the product was fit for purpose in a rapidly changing and diverse environment.
  • Dunnhumby
Programme And Operations Director – Price & Promotions
    Dunnhumby Feb 2012 - Apr 2014
    London, United Kingdom
Leading a team of 40 across UK, US and Central Europe, I was accountable for the delivery of dunnhumby’s Strategic Pricing and Promotions programme. This involved aligning the organisation around dunnhumby’s recent acquisition of KSS, and leading the £15 million business transformation programme across Tesco’s UK and International Markets to deliver £250 million in incremental annual sales, and £125 million in incremental profit. As part of my role, I worked at the Tesco Global Executive level to secure budgets and mobilise a team to lead the strategic change across Tesco Commercial and Marketing. The programme required significant business change in the way Marketing and Commercial teams operate, and redefining the strategies by which they operate and are measured at all levels of the organisation.
  • Dunnhumby
Director - Head Of Product Delivery
    Dunnhumby Oct 2010 - Feb 2012
As a member of the Core Delivery Leadership Team (dunnhumby’s global delivery centre), I was responsible for building and leading a team of up to 40 staff on 3 continents. I was accountable for ensuring the efficient delivery of all products across all solution areas (budget of £2.3 million per year), and providing first class support for the products once live.Key to the success of the role was defining a strategy for continuous improvement within the team, and defining change in the way all areas of Core Delivery operate together and in conjunction with the 22 global client retailers.Alongside delivering to market commitments, I initiated and managed a project to identify the root causes of the rising cost of product deployment, and worked with external consultants Gartner to propose strategic change across Core Delivery to radically reduce the effort required. This project has lead to the reduction in costs by more than 50%, as well as the ability to reduce the time to market of developed code by up to a year.Another significant team under my leadership was Product Support – a team with low morale and performance as a result of poor previous management. In the first 6 months the team met the challenge of improving SLA achievements from less than 70% to more than 98%, and continue to grow in strength with zero attrition.
  • Dunnhumby
    Delivery Project Director
    Dunnhumby Jul 2010 - Oct 2010
As the expert in deploying our flagship product, I have been accountable for delivering the dunnhumby Shop to 5 new markets across 3 continents. Key to each successful deployment was developing a strong relationship with each market, working to build confidence in our ability to deliver.Running regular communications meetings with the markets ensured Core Delivery were always focussed on delivering to each market’s priorities, while efficient project management meant commitments were within the capabilities of the delivery team and resource constraints. Strong communications and a continuous drive on morale has been crucial to leading a team of 15 to 20 development and deployment resources across the UK, US and India, spread across multiple projects but working as a single team.Working closely with the Market Representatives and the Core Delivery Leadership Team has been critical to the success of each project, managing clear communications and escalations, empowering the team to resolve issues quickly and with minimum impact. My role also involved reviewing the budget each year for Shop delivery, understanding how we charge the markets, and driving efficiencies within the delivery process to help ensure high quality and cost effective deliverables. My background has also enabled me to deliver solutions to technical problems, in some cases identifying and resolving issues that would otherwise have meant failure to meet SLAs.
