Software engineer helping to build photonic quantum computers at ORCA Computing.Just as happy writing real-time hardware integrations (oscilloscopes are test fixtures!) as designing backend services and APIs — FastAPI, Flask, and Dash are my frameworks of choice.I’m most comfortable using Python and functional programming but love learning new languages and paradigms — modern C++, microcontrollers, and Verilog are next on my list.Once upon a time I was a chemical physicist and did a PhD building mass spectrometers in Australia, before moving to the UK to work as a postdoc (lots of ultrafast lasers, algorithm development, and LabVIEW) at UCL.More recently, I was the automation scientist — aka responsible for laboratory liquid handling robotics — and a software developer at a drug discovery biopharma startup, building infrastructure around equipment from Hamilton Robotics and Analytik Jena. Some of my interests include high-accuracy computational chemistry, next-generation sequencing and genetics, and low-latency software.
