Responsible of managing the development of new projects/business for Hella Automotive Mexico, through all the development phases: acquisition/quotation, design, industrialization, and production launching/stabilization (SOP+3M; start of production plus 3 months). The main scope are new businesses/projects related to the automotive lighting division of Hella, for customers (mainly OEMs, Original Equipment Manufacturer) with production sites in Mexico & Brazil. The Director of Program Management is responsible of the operational and financial performance of the projects developed by Hella Automotive Mexico (P&L full responsibility)

Hella Automotive Mexico started with regional product development activities during 2011. Therefore responsibilities of the Program Management activities were now local. The Product Cost Management (PC4) & Program Management Office (PMO) was responsible of 2 main tasks: (a) assure the financial performance of the projects being developed by Hella Mexico team (profit achievement & project budget control) and (b) define and deploy all the procedures & tools needed for developing projects. This in line with the Program Management Director and his team.

The scope of these activities were related to key topics related to the strategic development of the company. Projects assigned had to do different fields of the company: finance, human resources, procurement, logistics cost, VA/VE activities, Program Management... among others.

There is always a gap between the financial target of the company expected at the end of a fiscal year (budget, forecast, etc) and the current financial performance of the company. The Financial Improvement (also called Profit Improvement) area was responsible of (a) deep diving on these gaps, (b) identifying concrete actions to close each gap and (c) assure the implementation in time of them. These in line with the Manager or Director of each area responsible of the topic to be improved. The scope of the improvements cover any financial variable relate to profit: material cost, personnel cost, overhead, sales prices, transportation costs, importation taxes, MRO, development costs, reimbursements from customers, payment terms, etc.

Hella Group launched the "Lights On Project, LiON": a 3 year global project for restructuring and financially stabilize the Lighting Division of the Group. The objective was to bring Hella Lighting to a break even financial condition and establish the company new structure needed in order to maintain and improve the results achieved after the project was concluded. My task during this period was to manage all the related activities for Hella Mexico Division.

Main tasks were related to improving the PPI (Purchasing Price Index), localization of components in the NAFTA region & logistic cost improvements (transportation, customs, package, etc.)

Responsible of launching & managing the Project Purchasing area for Valeo Climate Control Mexico. Main tasks of team was to define & execute the sourcing strategy for recently awarded businesses. LCC localization (low cost country) was an important KPI for the team. LCC was focused in China, Malaysia, Eastern Europe and Mexico. NAFTA Local Content was also an important variable the team had to decide and manage.

The responsibility of this team (internally called -30 Plan) had two main focus: (a) making sure continuous improvement measures were identified and implemented by practically all areas in the company & (b) determine the cost improvement effect of those measures. The team was responsible as well to define priorities of main measures identified. The main areas of cost improvement that were tackled were: (a) material consumption, (b) direct labor cost and (c) overhead cost, MRO related.

Reporting to the Productivity Manager, this position responsibility was to analyze different business process in order to identify potential improvements. These improvements were later transfered to cost reduction effect. The "productivity measures" were prioritized based on this effect and other variables. This position was also responsible of making sure the measures with higher priority were implemented.
