About Susanna Joy
I am public health consultant currently providing technical assistance, programmatic support, and training to fetal, infant, and child death review teams across the country and in U.S.-affiliated jurisdictions. Through this process, I help communities and states examine risk factors that are driving childhood fatalities, and improve community systems to ensure that children can remain safe, grow, and thrive. I help build capacity for jurisdictions to examine the relationships between social determinants of health, health outcomes, and patterns in those relationships, with an eye toward public health prevention messaging, health policy, and infant and child fatality reduction. Trained as a health communicator, I have worked in maternal and child health research and public health program coordination in state-level Title V programs.
