This position was a contract position for six months with no option to hire. As an Manufacturing Engineer, I worked on the assembly floor monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading the assembly line. This positons responcibilities also included the design of tooling and fixtures, work station ergonomic evaluations, SOP's for the new model year, line equalization, and whatever other work was assigned by my supervisor or was necessary to keep the line running.

As a Design Engineer for Precision Form Inc, an industry leader in the fabrication of high volume metal components; I was responsible for the design of fixtures, gauges, tooling, and work stations; G&M code, SOP's, capital expenditure justification, design of simple to moderate machines, assisting with the introduction of Lean, specifically 5S, cell manufacturing, and VSM; and the quality standards for new products. As a Truss Designer/Salesman, I was responsible for meeting with the customer and following the project through completion. I designed wooden roof and floor trusses, steel beams, steel and wooden columns, LVL beams, and I joists for residential and commercial projects. As the Project Manager, I obtained all necessary stamps and certifications required for the project and communicated with all necessary personnel.

In this position, I was responsible for the setup and processing of 10-15 injection molding machines ranging from 75 ton to 750 ton and related personnel. I participated in Lean manufacturing teams including setup downtime improvement and some quality improvement teams as well. This position also required time in the shop repairing and changing over tools. In this role, personnel were also responsible for the development and setup of work cells including setting up robotic equipment, grinders, and any auxiliary equipment related to the product. I worked for AMP Inc. prior to their being bought by Tyco but my combined time at both was five and a half years. I was laid off for a period due to a slowdown in the semiconductor market, once work picked back up they hired me back.
