I have recently retired from a rewarding career of over 30 years at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), where I served as an Inspection Manager, Supervisor, and Inspector in various areas of animal health, plant protection, and food safety. I ensured the compliance of regulated parties with federal regulations and standards, and protected the health and well-being of Canada's people, environment, and economy.My educational background and professional experience have equipped me with a strong expertise in plant science and quality management. I hold a diploma and a technician certificate in plant science-horticulture from Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and I have developed and applied skills in quality control, quality system, risk assessment, emergency management, pest detection and management, and regulatory inspection. I have also managed budgets, work plans, human resources, and labour relations for my teams and projects. I have a passion for science, innovation, and collaboration, and I have contributed to multiple initiatives and programs that improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the CFIA's inspection and regulatory activities. I have also built and maintained positive relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients, both domestically and internationally.
