Responsible for directing the project management activities for the Host Committee of the 2012 Democratic National Convention including:• Implementing core project management practices in all aspects of host committee planning to ensure multiple projects are well—planned and executed to meet strict budget and timeline requirements.• Implementing core technology tools to facilitate project management processes.• Educating subject matter experts on project management techniques to enable better planning and execution.• Managing cross-functional issue identification and resolution.• Developing and implementing sponsorship packages and coordinating component fulfillment.

• Responsibilities include:o Identifying, establishing relationships with and mobilizing key diversity and human resources executives, CEOs and CFOs as well as employee resource group leads at several major corporations based in or operating in North Carolina.o Identifying, establishing relationships with and mobilizing Chambers of Commerce and other regional economic development groups.o Identifying, establishing relationships with and mobilizing small business owners.• Accomplishments include:o Developed and managed process for identifying and engaging key corporate business leaders.o Developed small business outreach process.o Developed and maintained contact tracking and relationship information database.o Secured multiple business leaders and owners to engage in calling key legislative contacts and signing public declarations of support for defeating the proposed amendment. o Organized and managed community vigil and press conference.
