As a Highway Section Manager at HDR, I work to develop staff to prepare highway design plans for large and small projects. I assist with marketing efforts to win new work and prepare future workload projections. I also prepare staffing plans for new and ongoing projects and assist project managers when necessary.As a project manager at HDR, I prepare proposals, negotiate fees with clients, setup budgets, schedule work activities and monitor projects. This involves coordinating work activities with clients, subconsultants and HDR team members to ensure agreements are in place, and deliverables meet client standards, schedule and budget.

As a Transportation Engineer at URS, I prepared preliminary civil plans to rehabilitate existing track lines and bring closed track lines back into service for the Stage II LRT Program. My responsibilities included development of project CAD standards and preparing line and grade plans for several miles of track using MicroStation and InRoads software.

I worked in the Roadway Design Division at the WVDOH. I was a designer/ project manager for several roadway improvement project across the state. This involved preparing design studies, final contract plans and right of way plans using MicroStation and InRoads software. Tasks involved coordination with other disciplines such as surveyors, bridge engineers, traffic engineers, right of way staff and utility companies to develop PS&E documents and right of way plans. After two years, I was promoted to Roadway Design squad leader responsible for managing 6-7 engineers and design technicians.
