Brightstar is a global organisation partnering with large wireless OEM, Retail and Telco Carriers to provide B2B service in 57 countries. With 6000 employees Brightstar provide services across the wireless device life-cycle including competitive analytics, financial services, distribution and digital marketplaces. My role was to develop a regional HR function in line with the strategic growth targets and dynamic pace of the wireless industry. The initial focus on my role was create a contemporary HR function building a commercially focused business partnering team supported with a regional shared service function. The role has evolved to take an organisational development focus of talent development, employee engagement, employee experience and culture development.

My General Manager role was responsible for the designing and implementing strategic HR priorities for the Finance & Strategy Function. Leading a team of HR professionals in both direct line and matrix environments, my role has accountability for 1500 employees across Finance, Risk, Audit, Capital Planning and Strategic Finance functions in 9 countries. The role is focused on delivering on our transformation agenda, building our global growth capability and evolving talent and leadership agendas. My accountability also stretched towards driving complex projects at business unit and enterprise level. My focus was on leveraging my relationships with senior leadership teams to translating the people strategy to commercially sound people initiatives while role modelling the organisational values and leadership behaviors.
