Responsible for the leadership of B.O.S.S. (Business Optimization System for Serta Continuous Improvement initiative for Serta) program. Develops, plans, leads and implements Kaizen events per Program guidelines designed to forward and sustain continuous improvement initiatives. Identifies opportunities for Kaizen events(kaizen funnel)that include identification of quantifiable and sustainable results. Develops and communicates metrics for measurement of continuous improvement; monitors and analyzes quantitative and qualitative results related to B.O.S.S. initiatives on a continual basis.The North Carolina facility in Whitsett was the benchmark for our corporate lean initiatives. Training's were and are held on a regular basis to help drive our lean programs at all sites. I was responsible for the training and development plans for many of our new KPO's from our other 40 plants. In the first year of kaizen activity at my facility I brought over $375,000 of savings to the bottom line. Our facility is union and initially was an incentive based pay system. Through kaizen activity and management engagement we converted the plant from incentive to straight hourly with all production targets being set through team based kaizen activity. It has been phenomenally successful as a lean rollout and I am proud to have the opportunity to work with great mentors such as Shigijitsi, TBM and Next Level Partners. I also have completed my Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and am currently assigned as a value stream leader in the West Palm Beach facility which is undergoing major automation conversion of which I have been a part of over the last two years.

Led project of setting up second plant for milling, ripping and trimming operations including: site selection, procurement and installation of dust collection systems, baghouse, planers, transfer conveyors, permitting and staffing. I brought industry contacts for purchasing a wide variety of domestic lumbers, and various MDF, and HDF substrates.

Recruted to manage and oversee construction, equipment installation, staffing, development of quality and safety programs of 8 million dollar investment for new 60,000 sq. ft. east coast facility. Plant purchased both exotic and domestic hardwoods which were converted into transition mouldings used in the flooring industry. Highly automated production utilizing Weinig moulders, automated gang ripsaws, tooling/grinding operations.

Purchased hickory and ash logs, dryed in 9 dry kilns then ripped and moulded into a variety of products from hammer, axe and shovel handles, drumsticks and baseball bat billets. Started with company as dry kiln operator. I progressed in the company through maintenance, engineering to assistant plant manager to plant manager which was my last position for four years until the company relocated to Tennessee.
