The engineer responsible for design, manufacture and installation of traction substations and LV/HV switchgear. Full attention is required ensuring products and substation delivery meets clients specification and requirements and British/European standards. To date I have been a Project Engineer liaising with Network Rail with the delivery of North West Electrification Phase 2 and Crossrail MOS/CME Distribution Cubicles required for West Outer Electrification and a Design Engineer providing electrical drawings and design documentation for London Underground's Major Power Supplies Upgrades contract for new signalling rooms.My Project Engineer responsibilities consist of buying material, checking approved as-built drawings, creating method statements for each construction activity, and carrying out installation and commissioning activities within the agreed lead time programme. My design engineer responsibilities consist of working with design draughtsmen and liaising with an assigned design manager to produce substation layouts, agreeing cable sizes using Amtech Design and creating power and control interconnection diagrams. The role also consists of checking and approving sub-contractors design submissions prior submission to the client. Bi-weekly project meetings are attended ensuring the clients specifications are met and identifying that the design stage can completed to agreed programme dates that wont affect manufacture, construction and commissioning activities.

- Responsibility to engineer electrical project designs of solar panel systems for domestic dwellings, with the customers having the opportunity to gain a maximum 4kW supply. - Providing expertise knowledge of the PV solar panel system and DC/AC Electrics throughout their guarantee period of a fully functional system.- Using computer-assisted engineering and design software.- Managing projects from conception through to a designed completion.- Making sure all electrical projects are fit for purpose.- Reading electrical design specifications and technical drawings.- Identifying customers requirements, making models and altering until satisfaction is gained.
