As a College Completion Coach, I handle a caseload of approximately 100 College Forward students who attend Texas State University, Austin Community College, or are not currently attending school but are still enrolled in College Forward. The issues I assist my students with vary. They range from assisting students with completing financial aid paperwork and career development, all the way to helping students cope through difficult personal situations and unexpected crises that immediately affect their ability to remain in school. I have experience working with undocumented students, with a particular emphasis on navigating the financial aid options available to them. In addition to my direct contact with students, I also help College Forward spread its message through community outreach initiatives. During my second year, I played a major role in training new members in areas related to College Forward's standard operating procedure and unique database system.
