I co-founded The Greater Omaha Area Trail Runners (G.O.A.T.z) in February of 2012 and have been the President and Race Director for our races since. In the immortal words of many, "I have no idea what I am doing" and I love it. We pride ourselves in being different and thinking outside the box, and it shows.The G.O.A.T.z were formed in part to put on Omaha's first ultramarathon, the G.O.A.T.z 50k in October of 2012. In the time since our mission has broadened from hosting a single race in 2012 to hosting five races in 2015. In addition, the G.O.A.T.z conduct a 24 Hour Challenge fundraiser which has taken place the last three January's and supports MS Run the US and MS Research. We are also a parent/partner organization for two other charitable minded races in the greater Omaha area.Did I mention trail work? Yes, we do that too. We conduct trail days each year at Schramm Park State Recreation Area and Cunningham Lake in Omaha.How about the KIDz? We conduct free trail days for kids throughout the warmer months. After all, the love and respect of the outdoors by our young ones is vital to the future of the trails and natural areas we love.G.O.A.T.z is not about one person. It is about a community of runners, walkers, and trail enthusiasts who feel a kinship with one another and a responsibility to the areas we get to play and exercise on and I am proud to be a part of it.In short, I love being a part of things that matter and working with people who feel the same way.
