Scott retired from BP America, Inc. in March, 2014 after serving BP as VP for Group Safety & Operational Risk supporting the BP Group global Safety and Operations agenda for the Western Hemisphere. Scott previously retired from a 35 year career in manufacturing leadership with DuPont He has worked across the globe in 25 countries and has led major change efforts in both DuPont and BP. In addition, Scott led the Continuous Improvement effort across BP globally and was involved in similar activities in DuPont. He is based in Houston, During his career Mr Gray has developed a reputation for building teams and driving change, whether through stronger competitive operations or improved health, safety and environmental performance. His more than 45 years of experience have been in increasingly senior leadership positions in refinery operations for Union Oil of California, and 35 years in manufacturing for DuPont. He has worked in chemicals, refining, petrochemicals, textile fibers and polymers. He has served as plant manager for multiple sites, regional HSE director in Asia Pacific and regional operations director in both Asia Pacific and North America. His expertise includes leadership in the areas of transformations, regional operations, highly hazardous materials, quality (Six Sigma/Lean), HSSE and community relations.Mr. Gray has served on the Texas and Alabama Chemistry Councils, East Harris County (TX) Manufacturer’s Association, Manufacture Alabama, and Chambers of Commerce in LaPorte, TX and Mobile, AL. He served as Board Chairman for the Alabama Chemistry Council and Manufacture Alabama. Mr. Gray was raised in Washington, D.C. and holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
