Founding Stakeholder RepresentativeFour Forests Restoration Initiative (4Fri) Jan 2009 - Jan 2016Flagstaff, Arizona AreaCollaborative effort on an unprecedented scale to accelerate restoration of 1.2 million acres in 30 years. This will be done by a combination of logging and timber thinning methods, the reinvention of small timber industry, and the return of fire as a management tool. The NEPA process with split this into two phases, both record-setting in scale. Stand treatments will go from roughly 15,000 acres treated annually to 50,000 acres.Stakeholders liaise between 4FRI, USFS, and home organization or agency. They participate in several working groups or committees that deal with political issues, public issues, environmental, industrial, and economic issues.
