Citigroup / ACC Capital HoldingsACC Capital Holdings was the holding company for Ameriquest and Argent mortgage companies, and one of the largest sub-prime issuers in the country. The following three major functions were performed concurrently. Citi acquired ACC.Capital Markets• Evaluated seasoned collateral. Recommended and implemented strategies to maximize value for residual positions. One transaction, initiated by calling four deals, caused a re-remic to payoff, releasing $50mm in cash and a $40mm gain.• Structured new-issue sub-prime mortgage transactions: Deals averaged $2 bln in collateral and 15 bond tranches. Optimized collateral and mortgage insurance coverage, estimated collateral loss, built derivatives (swaps and/or caps). Determined optimal bond structure. Ran ratings agency process, sent bonds for agency sign off. Evaluated and price residual for equity sale. • Championed changing clean-up call percentage to 5% from 10%, enabling a longer swap in the deal. This increased executions by 10bps, or about $2mm.Corporate Strategy• Reverse engineered competitor securitizations to gain insight into market loan production, and to estimate profitability.• Designed and produced report for senior management analyzing ACC production versus competition.• Analyzed and helped design new products.
