During my tenure as the Training Design Specialist at the Combat Training Centre, I led the establishment of the S7 – Training Design cell, which focused on concept development and design for extended engagement with formation HQs. I developed a "primer" to establish baseline parameters for measuring training effectiveness and unit development, a crucial aspect of our operations. My role also included the creation of a dynamic multi-echelon and multi-domain training environment to rigorously assess new and emerging capabilities within the Defence sector, with an emphasis on capabilities slated for deployment within a 5-year timeframe. To ensure continuous improvement, I designed a robust reporting model that provided valuable feedback to training audiences.

In my capacity as a Defence Liaison Officer, I provided comprehensive career courses for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Officer Corps. My role extended to acting as the liaison officer for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to the RFMF, supporting diplomatic endeavours to re-establish bilateral relationships through the Defence Cooperation Program, which had lapsed since 2006.Embedded within the RFMF Strategic Headquarters, I actively participated in the planning and execution of domestic operations, particularly in disaster relief and recovery efforts. I also played a pivotal role in training division staff in the running of an Operations Room, thereby enhancing their capacity to manage military activities effectively.

During my time as the Officer Commanding DEXCON at the Combat Training Centre, I oversaw a team of 24 professionals in the newly established Plans Cell. Our primary responsibility was the development of all exercises for major and contingency training events.I managed the planning and execution of large-scale Battle Group level Warfighters, involving over 2000 soldiers, contractors, and equipment deployed to various training areas across Australia. I also developed new Planning SOPs for collective training design and execution, ensuring standardized processes. To ensure the continued growth of our team, I designed and implemented a Planners course to qualify new personnel in exercise and training design.Throughout this role, I collaborated closely with various stakeholders and interagency contributors, including DFAT, ICRC, State Emergency Services, ADF internal agencies, and services, to coordinate exercise participants and support. I also monitored all training expenses in accordance with assigned budgets, overseeing budgets averaging between $2 million and $2.5 million per exercise.

Attached to United States Army 1st Infantry Division HQ in Iraq In my role as a Manoeuvre Planner in Iraq, I directed plans teams within the CJFLCC Plans Cell, overseeing the planning of major and contingency operations. My responsibilities extended to assisting fellow planners in executing Phase 2 operations of the coalitions Iraq campaign and formulating plans for Phase 3 of the campaign.I also played a crucial role in assisting the Divisional ORSA (Operations Research and Systems Analyst) in creating campaign assessment summaries and contributed to strategic analysis, proposing tactical adjustments to optimise the campaign's success.

As the Operations Officer at the Combat Training Centre, I managed the planning and execution of Combat Training Centre military exercises, including Battle Group level Warfighters and Mission Rehearsal Exercises, involving thousands of soldiers, contractors and equipment.My role also encompassed overseeing substantial execution budgets, collaborating with civilian agencies for casualty evacuation and treatment, and formulating post-activity reporting and assessments to evaluate exercise outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

During my time as Officer Commanding A Squadron, 2 Cavalry Regt, I developed a comprehensive training program to advance the Cavalry Squadron from individual and vehicle crew training to fully operational deployment in remote locations.I oversaw the planning and execution of maintenance and sustainment during field operations, played a pivotal role in remediating the ASLAV fleet to ensure their readiness for training and deployment and enhanced the use of simulation in the Squadron's training progression, optimising effectiveness and cost efficiency.My role also involved managing a team of 108 personnel (expanding to 186) and a fleet of 28 Armoured and 9 B Vehicles (expanding to 45), overseeing their training, development and operational sustainment.

Serving as a Military Expert on Mission, I took on the role of Team Leader and UNMO (Military Observer) within Observer Group Golan (OGG) as part of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO).I led a diverse team of 16 UNMOs representing 9 different nations, ensuring their safety, training and operational readiness. Our mission involved monitoring and reporting on all activities within the OGG Area of Responsibility involving the Syrian and Israeli military forces.Additionally, I established and maintained regular liaison with the Israeli Defence Forces, Syrian Defence Forces and the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), facilitating effective communication and coordination among key stakeholders.
