I have been working in the restaurant field for 20-plus years. I started as a prep/dishwasher. I worked my way up to line cook in one year and then I worked on becoming a manager/Sous Chef. That took about two years then for the next stage of my career I learned how to manage people's work with food cost and labor metrics. I believe that going into the Java dev field is a great new start for me. With the experience of learning new recipes all the time in the restaurant. In Java development, you have to make a recipe with the code and if it doesn't work you just go back and fix it. Just like a dish that you cooked wrong and it tastes funny. So in coding, it feels the same if I code something wrong it will taste funny. Just go back and find out what went wrong and do it over again. Then I decided to join a Bootcamp for Java. I am not a stranger to boot camps, because I went to a culinary school for baking and pastry arts. Push myself to my limits and make sure that I learn everything around me After doing this for those years I have started to look at a career that is more time with the family. Having a work week that will let you have days off if possible(But I understand needing stuff to get done). I have a great work ethic and am always willing to learn about the new stuff coming out in the field that I am working in. I want to bring that great work ethics that I grew in myself all those years to the next career that I choose. If you have a question please reach out to me when you can.
