About Scott Lambert
Scott Lambert is a Associate Professor of Computer Science and Information Systems at Rhode Island College. He possess expertise in teaching, curriculum design, programming, classroom, e learning and 19 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Of all the teacher's and instruction I have received throughout my formal education, Scott Lambert stands out the most. I don't give praise very easily, and tend to be a very critical student. Scott's classes were so engaging, informative, and enjoyable that I went to the Dean of my technology and requested him as much as possible. Unlike most teacher's, Scott was able to tell early on that the students who began the Software Engineering course at NEIT with me were going to challenge him in ways he hadn't seen before (or at least a long while). We proved this time and time again as we sped effortlessly through the course's standard material and finished the standard curriculum weeks before the class usually ended. Rather than simply running the course as laid out in the curriculum (which many instructors disappointed me in doing), Scott raised the bar and challenged each of us individually with new projects & assignments and taught us so much more than we could have otherwise. Every class I attended him was unique and required a great deal of effort on his part to develop. At the culmination of my schooling, I came to Scott and requested a special project that would exist beyond the confines of the classroom environment. Scott took it upon himself to not only meet that request, but provide an enormous challenge for me to test all the skills I had learned with him. For my Senior project, I used a programming language and tools I had not studying extensively during my time at NEIT. I owe the fundamentals, tutoring, and many hours after class to Scott for my successes. Scott was and is also the owner of his own software development company, Junto Development Group, and is one of the best developers I know. Once I received my bachelor's degree (3.98 cumulative GPA), we ascended the teacher/student relationship to that of professionals and have worked on various projects together. I am currently a software engineer contractor and still receive daily benefits to the instruction provided by this amazing teacher. Scott is an excellent person to work with, who always takes the time to understand the problem and solve it methodically, although efficiently. As an instructor, you are hard pressed to find a better educator. As a employer, he is efficient, responsive, intelligent, and excellent to work with. I could not choose a better instructor or business associate and would highly recommend him for the reasons I have detailed above." and "I am very thankful for the education that I received at NEIT but not all teachers were like Scott. It was such a pleasure to go to his class. He always challenged you. He has that rare gift of being able to make the most difficult concepts understandable. He has a deep understanding of the material and it shows. I often wished all of my subjects were taught by someone like him. He is a true asset to education and I am thankful that I was able to learn to do what I love, not to mention get paid for it thanks to him."
