I for one have had to learn how to solicit our services to a clientele that is willing to pay for a quality job well done. This can sometimes be a tough in a market that has been fluctuating over the last few years. Especially when there are many other landscape contractors out there willing to a lesser quality job at a lower rate. Managing time is always a tough one as well. You want to take on as many jobs as possible, but this isn't always an achievable goal, as there's only so many hours in a day. Then comes the physical aspect of the job. We try to be as effective, and efficient as possible when out in the field. I want to be the contractor that everyone compliments when I see them at the end of the day. We want to shine! Billing and cash management has got to be the hardest part of what we do. You could say I'm a bit, old fashioned, if you will, in that, I just don't do computers, I don't get computers, nor do I want to know anything about computers! That being said, we have had to at least learn the e mail way of life. That seems like the way most customers prefer to communicate. Then tthere's the communication piece of my job. One could say, I might need a little brushing up in this dept. I am not always the best at returning calls right away. Mainly because I check my voicemail late at night. I'll get better along the way!
