In my role, I help students navigate the process of completing their makeup work while keeping up with their classes and dealing with their particular needs. Working alongside mental health clinicians, we work as a team to help the students not only with their academics, but also to find their way though the hard-enough-already experence that is high school. Our students who come to us with consussions get treated like they have a tramautic brain injury (TBI), because they do. I work with teachers to differentiate student workload to promote cognitive rest, and monitor headache severity and symtpoms with the team. Using data and milieu experience, we work with families and the greater LHS team to develop plans and accomodations for the students as they meet their goals and transition from the program.
