Assistant Fleet Manager
CurrentWork with Fleet Manager and Fleet Services staff to manage roughly 1400 vehicles, an operational biennial budget of approximately $14 million, 2 in house maintenance facilities, a capital replacement program, and a comprehensive computerized fleet information system. Manage and monitor Fleet Service shop operations and maintenance. Plan, direct, and evaluate the work of supervisors and staff. Manage customer relations with all City departments that utilize City vehicles and equipment maintained by Fleet Services. Assist in the development and execution of City and departmental initiatives. Develop and manage department safety policies and procedures. Lead City’s Fleet safety program. Periodically inspect work sites to verify policies and procedures are being followed. Develop and oversee specifications for vehicles and equipment based on operational requirements, while taking into account strategic initiatives, fiscal responsibility, innovation, industry best practices, and good judgement. NAFA certification in Asset Management. First Aid and CPR certified. Trained in LEAD principles.
