Dog Behavior Follow Up Trainer
Current● Five Star Foster Behavior LiasonRespond to emails from fosters/adopters in order to:○ Remind and offer the support of APA’s lifelong free behavioral support service withthe goal of return prevention○ Gather home notes, details of incident(s), and behavior history to update the dog’sShelterLuv file, attributes, and scores appropriately○ Evaluate the home situation and dog’s behavior to appropriately diagnose the issuesand determine creative solutions for keeping the dog in the home safely○ Send applicable resource training documents and videos as well as a personalized training plan○ Schedule and lead phone/ video consultations or in-person training sessions at the shelter or in the home● Maintain spreadsheets and report data which tracks returns● Send proactive check-in emails to adopters/fosters who have taken in dogs with behavioralchallenges● Develop new resource material which aims to proactively educate fosters and adopters on dog training and managing behaviors ● Maintain internal communication and documentation through the use of Google Documents, Spreadsheets, ShelterLuv software, and email● Assist with duties related to placement of dogs including, but not limited to:○ Consulting with potential adopters or fosters about a dog’s history and behaviorneeds before they go into the home○ Working with fosters to teach best practices when screening potential adopters andhandling introductions to the potential adopter(s) resident pets● Assist in development and maintenance of Five Star Foster Program
