I joined the GMC to lead a business case to procure and implement a new system to house our non operational data.My role has mainly 2 specialisms. Product manage 'records hub' (our product) on SharePoint and manage our Information and Records Risks with developed reporting and advice on UKGDPR.My Product Manager skills as well as CIPP/E qualification has allowed me to lead a team in designing a system based on both the users experience, EDRMS requirements and UKGDPR data principles, ensuring our Privacy by design is baked in to the EDRMS. Currently we are part way through the deployment of 'Records Hub'. Once completed it will allow to us to report on data like never before, highlighting our high risk data so that we can mitigate risks using technology or local procedures. This is key to compliance with UKGDPR when moving technologies with personal data and sensitive business records. My role also involves managing the information risks strategy across the GMC, by reporting into the Information and Record retention risk board. We use KPI's for retention and risks as well as updates and guidance from a EDRMS perspective. I also manage the Scanning Department and the Information Records department. My passion for people management has not changed since I first took on a manager role at the age of 21. I always look to lead people so that they feel empowered allowing for success.

My passion for photography started as a child. I love the artistic side of photography. When I was younger I started to build up my experience and would have the pleasure of photographing weddings over 20 times a year. As my career changed I instead started to love photography as a hobby but I have always allowed myself room to take on up to 5 weddings per year for the pure reason that I love it. This allows me to offer sensible and affordable deals for customers whilst maintaining my hunger for that creative outlet I need. Currently open to some work in 2024 and 2025.

After successfully delivering the new EDRMS system on SharePoint, my role evolved into managing the Information requests team and giving advice on UKGDPR.I gained my CIPP/E qualification in GDPR. I managed a team of Officers dealing with FOIA and SAR requests, responding to the ICO when required and advising projects on data protection principles. I also managed the Information asset owners network, and advised on our information strategy whilst product owning the SharePoint EDRMS, where we housed our information at the PHSO. This challenging role allowed me to gain a passion for both new technologies and Data Protection which has allowed me meet both the user needs whilst insuring the information is kept in line with UKGDPR

My day to day role involves reviewing service complaints and decisions made in the PHSO. This involves often complex report writing and a high degree of sensitivity when dealing with high profile casework. As the last stage in the Complaints procedure, the decisions we give is often to explain that our investigation decision is sound and they have reached the end of the process. This work involves a very high degree of responsibility to confirm whether or not our previous work was sound.
