In my current role I ensure CX Energy Services Ltd safety culture and am responsible for overseeing personnel management, including wage increases, promotions and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies. I determine staffing requirements, oversee the recruitment process, recommend strategic direction and implement plans based on recent safety audit results while ensuring that policies and programs meet legislated requirements. Responsibilities also include training employees in safety management best practices, assisting with hazard identification and the development of safe work procedures, identifying, developing and delivering safety training supplements, providing day-to-day guidance and advice. I am also responsible for providing field support for the safety requirements of significant projects.

Provide Health & Safety support to general contractor in the area of water and wastewater management. Attained NCSO designation through Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Coastal GasLink Project (Sections 5B, 6 & 7A) – Burns Lake, B.C.As the Security Supervisor for the prime contractor on this project I was responsible for day-to-day security activities including, workflow coordination, training/supporting new team members, monitoring and delegating task completion, investigations and on-call support services. I reported to the Health, Safety & Security Manager and this role also required my significant collaboration with the Project Management team.

In October 2021 I was transferred to command McLennan Detachment which consists of a Corporal, 4 Constables and 2 administrative staff. This Detachment is responsible for policing a large geographic area in northern Alberta including the entirety of the MD of Smoky River and the several communities contained therein. I sought my discharge from the RCMP effective June 2022.

Promoted to Sergeant in charge of Red Earth Creek Detachment consisting of a Corporal, 5 Constables and 3 administrative staff. This Detachment is responsible for policing a large and remote area in north central Alberta including the Hamlet of Red Earth Creek and three First Nation communities.In this position I was responsible for:- planning, evaluating and directing the operational and administrative activities of a contract RCMP detachment which is responsible for federal, provincial, municipal and First Nation Band law enforcement.- establishing and maintaining community based policing measures, promoting police/community relations and establishing and maintaining liaison with government officials, First Nation Band Councils, client groups and other local agencies.- establishing human and physical resource requirements and establishing emergency contingency plans.

Promoted to the rank of Corporal in the position of Watch Commander at High Level Detachment supervising a Watch of 6 Constables. This Detachment is responsible for policing a large remote geographic area in far northern Alberta including the town of High Level, several remote hamlets and 3 First Nation communities. I was acting in charge of operations for the entire Detachment of 12 Constables and 2 Corporals for the last 6 months of my posting in High Level.In these positions I was responsible for:- leading and coaching a team of police investigators who provide a policing service to a large geographic area of north western Alberta.- enforcing the Criminal Code, federal and provincial statues and Band By-laws. - liaising with community leaders, including First Nation leadership, and other key external partners to deliver a policing program designed to address local needs. - implementing and participating in community policing initiatives, including enforcement initiatives and problem solving approaches.- promoting and maintaining community tripartite agreements and policing service delivery programs.

In March 2015, with the transfer of the incumbent NCO i/c of Manning Detachment, I was assigned as the Acting Detachment Commander for the next several months, pending the identification and transfer in of a new Commander.In this roll I was in charge of 3 Constables and 2 administrative staff and responsible for the following:- planning, evaluating and directing the operational and administrative activities of a contract RCMP detachment which is responsible for federal, provincial and municipal law enforcement.- establishing and maintaining community based policing measures, promoting police/community relations and establishing and maintaining liaison with government officials, client groups and other local agencies.- establishing human and physical resource requirements and establishing emergency contingency plans.

In November 2012, I accepted a transfer to Manning Detachment in northern Alberta in a general duty investigator role but as the senior Constable at this Detachment. This Detachment is responsible for policing a large and remote area in northwestern Alberta including the Town of Manning, most of the County of Northern Lights and several small hamlets contained therein.

Upon completion of RCMP Training at Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, I was posted to Vermilion Detachment in east central Alberta as a general duty Constable investigator.In this position I was responsible for:- conducting investigations and enforcing provisions of the Criminal Code, federal and provincial statues and municipal bylaws where applicable.- establishing and maintaining community based policing measures, crime prevention, promoting community relations and liaising with client groups.

I was hired as a truck driver at Carson Welding & Maintenance, an oil and gas pipeline/facility construction company working in Saskatchewan and Alberta.In this role I was responsible for:- Hauling heavy equipment (tridem lowbed & jeep) and pipe(highboy) to job sites and keeping track of the locations of equipment.- Winch truck operations hauling tanks and office trailers with live-roll trailers.- Hauling water & methanol via body job tank trucks to job sites for pressure testing of pipelines.- Hauling gravel/sand/contaminated soil with tridem end-dump trailer.- Ensuring compliance with Commercial Vehicle, WHMIS & TDG regulations.- Some operation of heavy equipment (i.e. track hoe, back hoe, dozers, graders).- Assisting with routine maintenance of equipment and trucks.- Assisting with various oil and natural gas pipeline construction jobs related to the installation of steel, poly and fiberglass pipe.- Completing driver’s daily log and time tickets/bills of lading, along with ensuring proper tracking of equipment locations.

I was hired as a truck driver at State Line Trucking, hauling tandem step-deck loads to the United States and throughout Western Canada. In this role I was responsible for:- Hauling various types of flat deck loads from Western Canada to the United States and transporting various back-hauls back to Canada.- Ensuring compliance with cargo securement and the various commercial vehicle regulations of Canadian Provinces and U.S. States.- Obtaining and preparing all required paperwork for commercial international border crossings.- Maintaining contact and working with various shippers/receivers and brokerage companies to obtain required commercial border crossing paperwork.- Completing driver’s daily log as well as compiling additional information required for IFTA regulation compliance.- Maintaining close contact with dispatcher to ensure timely load delivery and pick up for clients.- Performing minor maintenance on equipment and ensuring any repair needs are promptly brought to the attention of management.- Working independently many days from home and demonstrating superior problem-solving skills.- Demonstrating flexibility with work hours as trips may last anywhere from one to three weeks away from home.

I was hired as a truck driver with Double KK Trucking hauling grain/bales throughout south-west Saskatchewan with tridem grain trailer and tandem highboy bale trailer. In this role I was responsible for the following:- Safely hauling grain and bales for farmers and grain handling companies.- Scheduling and coordinating loads with customers.- Working independently (i.e. scheduling loads, loading/unloading trailer alone)- Operating skid-steers, tractors and grain augers to load trailers.- Performing minor preventative maintenance on equipment.- Completing driver’s daily logs, bills of lading and other required paperwork.- Notifying management of any needed equipment maintenance/repairs.
