Machine designer of all machines built in house for a new line of personal protective vest & other misc. mechanical designs. Working directly with the company's Chief Mechanical Engineer/CEO on these projects. These machines were for phase 2 & 3 of the manufacturing process included: adding mechanisms (cams, gears, pulleys & belting) to an existing stamping press (phase 2); revamping another machine to apply 3 different coats of adhesive to the stock strip to go into the stamping press (phase 2): designing from the ground up two SCARA robot machines to assemble the personal protective vest.Created government formatted drawings & maintained them during the Chem-Bio Tent project.Designed & acted as Project Engineer of a fabric coater with interchangeable coating heads. This project was running in production 4 months after the first line was drawn in the design. This project came in under budget & beat the project deadlineCo-designed a Biomass facility for using woodchip fuel to replace existing oil burning boilers.Did all CAD work for the company using Inventor 2013. This included all machine upgrades, test machines, as well as doing prototypes for personal protective garments, gloves, vests and tents.

11/04-9/05 Sr. Machine Designer-Principal designer of the Flexible & Modular finishing machines. From May 1st, 2004 to August 1st, 2004 I was part of a joint effort with the parent company in Germany to design a flexible finishing machine for the world market at Freudenberg. This required me to live in Germany for that period of time. -More recently I was Project Manager of a $1.6M project, which included 14 different machines. Six trimming machines, Four Leak Test/Greasing machines & 4 assembly machines.-Machine Quoting 6/03-12/03 Automated Machine Group Leader/Sr. Machine Designer-Was Interim Manager of the machine-building group, which included: 4 Machine designers, 3 Controls designers, & 8 machine builders. -During this time I was also the Designer & Project Manager for a project that included 7 lathe trimmers. These trimmers are running & are instrumental in meeting the customer’s needs of both quantity & quality. These finished parts make up $3,000,000+ in sales. 1/00-6/03 Sr. Machine Designer/AutoCAD coordinator-Principal Designer & Project Manager of the Coast assembly machine. This machine doubled the throughput by 50% & reduced the scrap rate another 50%. This included adapting the first two SCARA robots ever used in the company onto this machine.-Principal Designer & Project Manager of 2 In-line finishing machines. Also created standard designs for the different stations on the in-line finishing machine so that only tooling needed to be designed.-Co-Designer of a finishing machine using a 6-axis robot. This machine was capable of running 6 different parts (one part style at a time).-In charge of the continued running of AutoCAD & Mechanical Desktop including training new employees. 1/95-12/99 Machine Designer/AutoCAD coordinator-Principal Designer & Project Manager of 2 In-line finishing machines.-Principal Designer & Project Manager of 12 Horizontal trimming machines.
