Successfully transitioned MIM's business from Industrial to Retail. Company moved from Norwalk, OH to Fostoria, OH into a new plant but ran out of cash.Starting in 2009, after the collapse of industry and most markets, I started my own company called D & S Sales based out of my home office here in Medina, OH. I found it easier to get contract work rather than being hired as a regular employee, as most companies had hiring freezes. Projects lasted from 1-3 years and I was paid as a 1099. A few of my larger projects were selling into the Midwest for a Mexican company who desperately needed to move product into the Midwest. This company was headquartered in Mexico City. Another large project was a group of Canadian investors looking to restart a closed mill in Newton Falls, NY. My primary responsibility was doing market research and working as a consultant with the different engineering groups. An Indiana based company contracted me for three years to build a viable business base in Ohio from a scratch territory. and at the completion of the 3-yr contract bought my $150K/yr business and folded into an existing distributorship operating in Indiana. Monroeville Industrial Molding in Norwalk, OH had been built on making products for various state DOT's but was not making money. I was hired to move all molded production into the retail market. MIM had thirteen large presses which had sales contracts for Wal-Mart and Target making various size totes and shelving unit for Lowe's. There were some smaller projects which were successfully completed and closed.Early on in my career, I was hired at the age of 18 as a Research & Development technician for Simpson Corporation. The youngest the company had ever hired. My primary responsibility was developing new grades and modifications to existing products. This background has been a help to me, as I learned most physical test principles which has helped me at Paramont Machine Company. Such as roundness in TIR in UHMW tubes.For other companies I have worked as National Sales Manager for North America and International Sales Manager creating markets in Asia, Middle East and all of Latin America.
