Buyer 2 Sourcing/managing strategic buyers, negotiating purchases of $2-million in cryogenic equipment fittings, paper, and foil wrapping materials, and maximizing product pricing, production parts availability, and profit margins. Developing/sustaining relationships with high-profile vendors and end users including Ferguson, Graybar, McMaster Carr, NASA, Blue Origin, and SpaceX, monitoring blanket-order performance, and assuring JIT parts and materials releases and deliveries. Collaborating with Production Planning, Quality Control, Manufacturing Department managers, and engineers, strategizing/aligning materials and parts deliveries, providing ongoing status reports, and consistently meeting strict schedule demands. Communicating with vendors, troubleshooting and expediting parts change orders and late-order items, conducting parts analysis, strategizing/implementing corrective action plans, and averting future delays. Leveraging MRP and ERP Systems, auditing multi-vendor, lead-time, and safety stocks, monitoring, aligning, and synchronizing purchasing and parts delivery schedules, and facilitating a highly-efficient parts and equipment supply process. Reviewing Data Analysis System shortage and past-due order reports, contacting suppliers, and negotiating and expediting lead times. Attending weekly and monthly Department Kaizen meetings, anticipating/strategizing lead-time and pricing solutions, reducing production and transportation costs, and optimizing end-to-end purchasing efficiency. Evaluating and reconciling pricing variances, creating budget rationales, and facilitating an improved senior leadership decision-making process.
