Jan 2002 - Present

Adjunct Professor Of Trade-Off Analysis, Modeling & Simulation (Introduction To Operations Research)

College Park, Maryland, United States

Graduate Course ENSE622. Presents model-based approach to systems engineering by introducing mathematical modeling and simulation techniques for system performance, optimization, and trade-off analyses. Topics include: linear and integer programming; state machine models of finite state machines; development of simple intelligent agents; modeling Markov processes; queueing theory; multi-objective trade-off analyses; decision trees; stochastic (Monte Carlo) simulation and linear regression.

Logistics Officer

I held leadership roles in heavy equipment shop management, divisional logistics support and command providing multiple opportunities to impact broad military operations. • I commanded a forward maintenance company responsible for multiple supported units. Success was maintaining a supply warehouse, equipment shops and forward deployed teams in an “always ready” posture. • Operations officer for logistics battalion – three different jobs over four years on two continents. My most rewarding (and challenging) military role including one year running operations for the only US military logistics base in Bosnia - a multi-national, 1500 soldier camp.• Managed the direct maintenance activity for all equipment assigned to a mechanized division. We made sure every piece of equipment used by 15,000 soldiers was operational by conducting repairs and managing the supply warehouse.

Jun 1990 - Dec 2001

Co-Op Engineering Intern

Glasgow, Wv

Worked in the Performance Engineering Department of a thermal electric power plant. Responsibilities included diagnostic tests of plant equipment, forecasting of plant production and analysis of collected system data. Developed experiments and tested programs for data collection. Gained familiarity and insight into plant operations and commercial power production.
