    Over a 4 month period, became familiar with a new codebase, programming language, and development environment and produced a new piece of functionality that is currently used daily by thousands of Trane technicians.In the first month I got up to speed on C#, XAML, WPF, WinForms, and a 100,000 line portion of Trane legacy code. Using this knowledge I developed a new dialog for updating firmware and software on the hundreds of microcontrollers used in a Trane heating and cooling solution. This dialog allows Trane technicians to queue up numerous firmware transfers and leave the site while the transfers take place. This dialog has drastically improved the productivity of Trane's technicians. Sofware and firmware upgrades for large Trane systems that previously cost customers tens of thousands of dollars in technician time can now be completed for significantly less money. I led the development of this dialog and organized an ad hoc team of developers and domain specialists to ensure that the dialog met the needs of technicians. My name and the names of my team members are on a pending patent for this dialog. The development of this dialog was initially a side-project, but as my project gained interest and approval from management, it was integrated into production code replacing an earlier dialog. During this process I became familiar and complied with Trane's standards for documenting and testing new functionality.
