Scott created a weekly feature on the history of popular music for the CBC, concentrating on the Forties, Fifties, and Sixties. Highlighting anniversaries of the week of music that had a lasting social impact on our culture, The Almanac became an extremely popular feature with listeners. Scott then made it part of Eye on the Arts on CFAX 1070.

Asked to develop, produce, and host a weekly three-hour arts program that became one of the station’s top-rated weekend programs. Interviewed local artists; nationally-known singers such as Tom Cochrane and Nikki Yanofsky; actors such as Paul Gross; directors such as Oscar-nominated Neill Blomkamp [District 9]; best-selling authors such as Jack Whyte. Made national headlines after BC’s Culture Minister told him the arts community was not concerned that the government was cutting investment in the arts by 90%.

The Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria is dedicated to addressing the issues of professional arts organizations. Duties included: arts advocacy, all areas of financial management, arranging meetings with members and government officials, alerting members to developing issues, writing policy briefs, and liaising with arts politicians and staff at local, regional, and provincial levels

Quickly graduated from casual news reader to hosting network flagship newscasts such as The World At Six, World Report, and Canada At Five. Also hosted The Radio One Business Network, which included preparing [and often chasing] a daily interview. Anchored segments of the network’s Gulf War and 9/11 coverage. Created The Musical Almanac, a weekly feature on the history of popular music. Worked as a producer/editor on programs such as Canada at Five, The World At Six and The World This Weekend. Filled in as guest host on local programs Ontario Morning [Toronto], On the Island, and All Points West [Victoria].
